Only For the Open Minded is a community supported, independent art and music dissemination unit.
We aim to inspire, create and distribute experimental forms of art, music and literature, made by people who believe that the creative process is an adventure that will not be restricted by any kind of categorization or limitation.
Happy People Have No History

ONLY FOR THE OPEN-MINDED started in 2002, originally to distribute DRD recordings. Slowly, it expanded into a support system for other creative groups and individuals. Currently run by Champ and Rhea, mostly out of their Los Angeles home, Only For the Open Minded transitioned from a Myspace page to a full fledged website in 2009.
Open Minded Music:

Most recordings are available to download for free. Hard copies of CDs, tapes and vinyl are priced inexpensively to emphasize the importance of sharing creativity and building community.

Open Minded Press:

Along with the Open Minded Mobile Distro, we have many zines available as a free PDF download. Hard copies of zines are often priced as free items – all you pay for is postage, or if you prefer, send us your zine, art, music, etc. in trade. We love getting mail and making swaps!

Shared Madness:

We have a number of handmade items available under the Open Minded derivative, Shared Madness. Items change frequently so check back often!

Lastly,

Unlike most artists, we do not believe in the myth of the “starving artist”. If you are an artist and you are starving…maybe its time to get a job or learn some skills! Dooooo it!
