“Short Term Plans for A Distant Future” is the debut album of DRD/Guppies guitar player, Oliver Fritz Kurt Dammasch. In his solo work, Dammasch stirs away from the heavy fuzz, effects laden sound that his bands are known for, instead he explores atmospherics and employs a careful spatialization of sounds. Some of the songs also stand out through his constructive exploration of ambient soundscapes and texture. There seems to be an amazing clarity in the sound that he is evoking, which at times can be reminiscent to the more subtle works of Fripp and Eno.
