1. Spacedust Upon hearing their band name for the first time, a lot of people always wonder what it means. Bastidas, who got their name from Micaela Bastidas Puyucahua, a Peruvian heroine and martyr, have been known to mystify people at their shows with their brand of psychedelic hardcore thrash punk interbred with some Latin American grooves. The band which comprises of Lee (skin and percussions), Henry (guitars vocals and sometimes bass)and Sonia (bass, vocals and sometimes guitar) have been constantly evolving since their conception but they have always retained the high strung, hi-powered energy that their shows are known for. This EP features the many elements that makes Bastidas stand out from being just any rock band. A lot of the songs exhibit their great dynamic and musical dedication especially with the songs that are sang both by Sonia and Henry . Songs shift from being dreamy into pounding yr skull with a clenched fist. The instrumental ones also resonate well because the power that is inherent in their music can totally speak for itself. Get this now and we assure you that you will be chanting BAS! TI! DAS! in yr sleep. |
